2017 Topps UFC Knockout #88
Her first card, six months after her UFC debut and four and a half years into her pro career — there is nothing from the Invicta run to compete with it. Released 10 May 2017 in a 100-card base set, it beats the better-known Chrome #85 to market by four months, which is why date-order collectors call this the rookie even though the Chrome is what trades.
Two things are unsettled. First, which 2017 card is 'the' rookie: Knockout #88 is first by release date, but the market treats 2017 Topps UFC Chrome #85 as the rookie and eBay titles call both 'RC'. Second, whether a printed RC logo exists on either. SportsCardsPro's data field for Knockout #88 reads 'Is Rookie Card: No', while eBay listing titles read '2017 Topps UFC Knockout ALEXA GRASSO RC Rookie Base Card No 88' and '2017 Topps UFC Chrome ALEXA GRASSO #85 Green Refractor RC /99'. TCDB, normally the arbiter of RC flags for MMA, is not reachable, so the flag could not be checked.
Chrome #85 refractor parallels are routinely sold as 'the rookie' when they are parallels of the same card. Listings also present privately signed Chrome #85 cards with a Beckett or PSA authentication COA as autograph rookies — they are not certified issues and should not be confused with #MA-AG.

Card history
Grasso turned pro in December 2012 and went 5-0 in Invicta FC between 2014 and 2016 without a single card coming out of it: Invicta held no trading-card licence, and no reachable source records a Grasso card of any kind before 2017. Her UFC debut at The Ultimate Fighter Latin America 3 Finale on November 5, 2016 landed too late for that year's Topps checklists, so her cardboard begins the following spring, four and a half years into her career.
Both of her rookie-year cards are Topps, and which one is the rookie depends on who you ask. 2017 Topps UFC Knockout #88 came first, on May 10, 2017, in a 100-card base set with Green /215, Blue /99, Red /25 and Gold 1/1 parallels. 2017 Topps UFC Chrome #85 followed on September 20 with the full ladder — Refractor, X-Fractor, Diamond, Green /99, Blue Wave /75, Gold /50, Orange /25, Black /10, Red /5, SuperFractor and plates — and that is the card the market treats as her rookie, though it is second by date. Listing titles call both 'RC' and no source consulted confirms a printed RC logo on either, and the refractor parallels of #85 are frequently advertised as separate rookie cards when they are parallels of the one card.
The odd shape of her run is that Topps printed her twice before anyone got her to sign. She is in neither 2017 product's autograph checklist — the 37-name Chrome Fighter Autographs list does not include her — and in none of Chrome's four inserts, so privately signed #85s with a third-party authentication COA are not certified issues. Her first certified autograph is 2018 Topps UFC Museum Collection Museum Autographs #MA-AG, released November 28, 2018, hard-signed in silver ink and serial numbered /99 or less, with Gold /25, Ruby /8 and Emerald 1/1 above it. She is absent from the 50-card Museum base set, so the autograph is her only card in the product.
Panini then reversed the pattern and signed her before it ever printed her. She is missing from the whole 2021 Panini Prizm UFC checklist — base, signatures and inserts alike — and her Panini era opens with autographs instead: Prizm UFC Signatures on March 25, 2022 and Donruss UFC Signature Series six weeks later on May 6, with a Black parallel catalogued for the Donruss card. Sources disagree on how those two are numbered, one checklist giving them base-style numbers and another lettered ones. Her first Panini base card did not arrive until the last release of the year, 2022 Donruss Optic UFC #91 on December 21, with the Optic rainbow running down to Gold Vinyl 1/1 — it is sometimes sold as a Panini rookie, which it is not.
She submitted Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 285 on March 4, 2023 to take the women's flyweight title, and 2023 Panini Prizm UFC shipped seven weeks later with her again autograph-only, in Superstar Autographs #34 and nowhere else in the product. 2023 Panini Select UFC, July 21, put her in the Mezzanine tier at #327 with a Snapshots insert #24. Topps' return then treated her as a headline champion: 2024 Topps Chrome UFC, March 20, 2024, has her at base #6 in a 200-card set, with Main Event Autographs #MEA-AGR — her first Topps signature in six years — and four inserts, Kings & Queens, All the Glory, Fired Up and Generation Now. Finest, Gold Label, Midnight and Stadium Club have all followed since.

Four years of pro fighting including a 5–0 Invicta FC run produced nothing: Invicta had no trading-card licence, and neither Collectibles.com nor Sports Card Investor lists any Grasso card before 2017. Her UFC debut on 5 November 2016 landed too late for that year's Topps checklists.

She is absent from the whole 2021 Panini Prizm UFC checklist — base, every signature set and every insert. Her Panini era instead opens with autographs: Prizm UFC Signatures (25 March 2022) and Donruss UFC Signature Series (6 May 2022). Her first Panini base card only comes at the end of the year, 2022 Donruss Optic UFC #91 on 21 December.

2017 Topps UFC Knockout #88 is the earliest Alexa Grasso card any reachable source records, and it is a UFC-licensed Topps issue released 10 May 2017 — four months before 2017 Topps UFC Chrome. Cardboard Connection's 2017 Topps UFC Knockout page gives the 10 May 2017 date, a 100-card base set and Grasso at #88; SportsCardsPro carries the same card as 'Alexa Grasso #88, 2017 Topps UFC Knockout'. Collectibles.com states flatly that 'Alexa Grasso debuted as a Rookie in 2017' and lists nothing earlier, and Sports Card Investor's guide starts at 2017 Topps Chrome UFC. Nothing exists from the Invicta years to displace it.
