Why this is the working pick

Checklist Insider's 2026 Topps Chrome UFC checklist lists him verbatim as '94 Patricio Freire RC', and SportsCardsPro's card page for 2026 Topps Chrome UFC #94 answers 'Is Rookie Card: Yes'. Chrome released May 8, 2026, ahead of the other 2026 product that RC-flags him (Stadium Club UFC #171, August 14, 2026). No Topps UFC product before it contains him: 2025 Topps Chrome UFC (June 27, 2025), 2025 Topps Midnight UFC (August 8, 2025), 2025 Topps Knockout UFC (October 24, 2025) and 2025 Topps Stadium Club UFC (January 23, 2026) all returned no Freire or Pitbull line. His only earlier card, 2025 Panini Contenders PFL Crown Jewels #5, is an insert with no RC designation — SportsCardsPro's entry for it states it is not a rookie card.

His rookie card, and his first card in a UFC-licensed product, arriving thirteen months after his UFC debut and twenty-two years into his professional career. Topps skipped him in every 2025 UFC release, so the Chrome refractor ladder is where a Pitbull collection effectively starts: the serial-numbered tiers from Gold /50 down to the SuperFractor 1/1 are the only scarce base-card versions he has.

The dispute

The honest friction is not which 2026 card is the rookie but whether a 38-year-old with four Bellator title reigns should have a 2026 rookie card at all. Topps' RC logo follows the first UFC-licensed appearance, so it lands on #94; a collector who dates rookies by first card of any kind would name the 2025 Contenders PFL Crown Jewels #5 instead.

Commonly misidentified

Patricio is routinely confused with his older brother Patricky 'Pitbull' Freire, who has his own cards — including 2025 Panini Combat Anthology MMA Stars Signatures #26, a Patricky card that listings sometimes shorten to 'Pitbull'. Any card captioned only 'Pitbull' needs the first name checked. Panini spells him 'Patrício Pitbull' while Topps spells him 'Patricio Freire', so the same fighter files under two names.
