Why this is the working pick

Prizm #88 is the earliest RC-flagged Pimblett card on TCDB. It came from Panini's flagship UFC product (released 25 March 2022), ahead of Donruss #207 (6 May 2022) and Optic #103 (21 December 2022), and SportsCardsPro and Sports Card Investor label it a rookie. It is the working pick, not an undisputed rookie: the 2021 Panini Instant #34 came out earlier and has Panini's RC logo printed on the front.

His first card in Panini's flagship Prizm UFC (released 25 March 2022), RC-flagged by TCDB and labelled '[Rookie]' by SportsCardsPro. Cardboard Connection's checklist lists more than 20 Prizm parallels, from unnumbered Silver to Black 1/1. He has no Prizm autograph that year.

The dispute

The 2021 Panini Instant #34 shows Panini's RC logo and predates Prizm, but TCDB lists it without an RC flag and SportsCardsPro marks it 'No'. Prizm #88, Donruss #207 and Optic #103 all carry TCDB RC flags. Collectors split between the 'first card' (Instant) and the 'first flagship RC' (Prizm).

Commonly misidentified

The unlicensed 2020-21 All Sports #410 appears on TCDB before any Panini card and may be sold as an early 'rookie'. Instant #34 is sometimes listed as serial-numbered /9708, but 9,708 is the total print run.
