Ilia Topuria

Topuria is a Panini-era fighter: he debuted in the UFC in October 2020, missed the 2021 checklists, and got his first cards in 2022. The 2022 Prizm #115 (released 25 Mar 2022) is his main rookie as the earliest-released of his five RC-flagged 2022 cards; Donruss Rated Rookie #215, Select Concourse #23, Chronicles #82 and Optic Rated Rookie #110 are the other four. Slab-Z reports a record sale for a 2022 Prizm Topuria rookie, and none of the 2022 checklists checked (Prizm, Select, Optic, Donruss) includes a pack-issued Topuria autograph.

His main rookie: the earliest-released of his five RC-flagged 2022 cards. Slab-Z reports a 2022 Prizm Topuria rookie selling for a record price.

Commonly misidentified

Prizm #115 isn't his only rookie: Donruss Rated Rookie #215, Select #23, Chronicles #82 and Optic Rated Rookie #110 are also RC-flagged 2022 cards, and some collectors call Donruss #215 'the' rookie. Prizm #115 is the working pick because its product came out first. Some eBay sellers market 2022 Panini Instant #23 (print run 394) as a 'Rookie Card RC SSP', but TCDB gives it no RC flag. Some eBay listings also describe a '2021 Panini Prizm UFC' Topuria RC; he isn't in the 2021 set. Slab-Z's aside about 'early or unofficial rookie cards such as TOPPS NOW' doesn't apply to any Topuria card found here.

Card history

Topuria's cards all come from Panini's licensed years: he is missing from the 2021 checklists, and his first cards arrived across Panini's 2022 UFC lines, starting with Prizm #115. Panini's multi-year UFC exclusive began with 2021 Panini Prizm UFC on April 28, 2021, after Topps' 2009–2020 run.

His first certified autographs came from outside the UFC license. Upper Deck's 2023 Goodwin Champions (released January 4, 2024) has A-IT, HA-IT and an All-World Gold autograph, and 2023 SkyBox Metal Universe Champions (April 24, 2024) added a /99 autograph.

Topps regained the UFC license through Fanatics Collectibles in January 2024. Since then Topuria has had Topps autographs in 2024 Royalty UFC (released April 4, 2025: The Time is Now /25 and Superior Signatures) and 2025 Topps Chrome UFC's Mark of a Champion insert.

High confidence

Ilia Topuria's rookie card: 2022 Panini Prizm UFC #115 — Ilia Topuria.

TCDB lists no Topuria cards before 2022, and he isn't on its 2021 Prizm UFC rookie list or the 2021 Panini Instant UFC checklist. Of his RC-flagged 2022 cards, Prizm #115 is from the earliest product (released 25 Mar 2022 per TCDB and Cardboard Connection), ahead of Donruss (6 May), Select (1 Jul), Chronicles (31 Aug) and Optic (21 Dec). Slab-Z calls 2022 Prizm his 'first true rookie'. Donruss #215, Select #23, Chronicles #82 and Optic #110 are RC-flagged rookies too, so picking Prizm #115 as his main rookie rests on release order, not on the others being any less of a rookie.

Uncertain

Which 2022 card is 'the' rookie: Prizm #115 is the consensus (earliest release, flagship), but Donruss #215, Select #23, Chronicles #82 and Optic #110 are all RC-flagged on TCDB.
