Why this is the working pick

TCDB flags 2023 Panini Prizm UFC #103 (released April 2023) and 2023 Donruss #203 Rated Rookie (June 2023) as RC; Prizm #103 came out first and SportsCardsPro also lists it as a rookie. His earlier 2022 Panini Instant #118, commemorating his 27 September 2022 Contender Series win, carries Panini's printed RC logo but no TCDB RC flag. His 2018 Sports Illustrated for Kids #720 is a college-wrestling card with no RC designation. FightCardboard's rule for Panini Instant cards: the working pick is the earliest TCDB-flagged RC in a regular release, and the Instant card is recorded as the other candidate.

His first Prizm card and first rookie in a regular pack product. 2023 Prizm UFC came out on 28 April 2023, eight weeks after his UFC debut win over Jamie Pickett at UFC 285.

The dispute

Sources disagree: Panini prints its RC logo on 2022 Panini Instant #118, which came first, but TCDB does not flag it RC and flags his 2023 cards instead (Prizm #103, Donruss Rated Rookie #203).

Commonly misidentified

Sellers and some collectors call 2023 Prizm #103 or Donruss #203 'his rookie'. Both are RC-designated but came after the 2022 Instant RC. The Instant card's '1 of 2,558' print run gets listed as if it were a serial number.
