Why this card matters
One of four Mauricio Ruffy cards in the 30-card commemorative set Topps issued for UFC Freedom 250, the event where he knocked out Michael Chandler in the first round. It is his most-traded card and the only Topps product that bills him as Ruffy rather than Santos, which is why so many collectors meet it first — but it is neither his first card nor his rookie. 2025 Topps Now UFC #8 precedes it by fifteen months, and 2025 Topps Knockout UFC #18 carries the RC designation this one does not.

- Card #22 in a 30-card base checklist
- No RC logo on this card — his RC-designated cards are 2025 Topps Knockout UFC #18, 2025 Topps Finest UFC #161 and #231, and 2025 Topps Royalty UFC #90
- Billed as Mauricio Ruffy; every earlier Topps card of him is catalogued as Mauricio Santos
- Freedom 250 event branding; the companion UFC Dollar version of the same fighter is numbered UD-22 and the Presidential Seal insert SO-22, so check the prefix before calling a card 'the base'
- Parallels are colour-coded and serial-numbered, so an unnumbered copy with no colour treatment is the base card
| It is his rookie card because it is his first card. | It is neither. His first card is 2025 Topps Now UFC #8 from March 2025, and his RC-designated rookie is 2025 Topps Knockout UFC #18 from October 2025. Nothing in Freedom 250 carries an RC marker. |
| He has no cards before 2026. | Topps catalogues him as Mauricio Santos. Under that name he has cards in 2025 Topps Now, Knockout, Finest and Royalty. |
| Base #22 and UFC Dollar #UD-22 are the same card. | They share the checklist slot number but are different cards; check the prefix before buying. |
