Why this card matters
Rua's first certified autograph, and the card that closes the strangest gap in his collection. A PRIDE grand-prix winner and UFC light heavyweight champion went through Topps' 2009 Round 1 and Round 2 autograph checklists, the 2010 flagship autographs, both 2011 signature products and the April 2012 Knockout release without a single signed card; the first one arrives on 7 December 2012, six years after his first card of any kind. It sits in a 45-fighter subset whose base tier is unnumbered, so it is the accessible entry point into signed Shogun cardboard — everything scarcer of his is a dual card.

- Coded A-MR: the 2012 Bloodlines autograph subset uses an A- prefix plus the fighter's initials across all 45 cards.
- Unnumbered at the base tier. A handful of subjects in the subset carry serials (Ronda Rousey /75, Hatsu Hioki /314, Ivan Menjivar /349, Louis Gaudinot /15); Rua is not one of them.
- Do not confuse the subset code with the 2013 Topps UFC Bloodlines product, which is a separate release with its own Cageside autograph codes (#AOS-SR for Rua).
- Not the same thing as #BL-SR: that is an unsigned Bloodlines insert card from the separate 2013 Topps UFC Bloodlines product, already in the archive.
Disputed
That it is his first signed card rests on the absence of a Rua signature everywhere earlier rather than on a 'first issue' marking. The 2009 Round 1 and Round 2 autograph checklists, the 2010 Topps UFC Autographs set, the 2011 Title Shot and Finest signature subsets and the April 2012 Knockout release have all been checked and carry no Rua autograph; 2012 Finest has not been confirmed either way.
