Why this card matters

A dual-signed mat relic of Silva and Lyoto Machida, numbered to 25, from 2009 Topps UFC Round 2. Cardboard Connection's Silva guide notes two Topps dual autograph relics that pair him with different fighters, each limited to 25. The guide doesn't name them. The Round 1 ASCL with Chris Leben (/25) and this card fit that description.

  • Two signatures (Machida above, Silva below) with an Octagon mat swatch between them.

Disputed

Sources disagree

The card code is unresolved. The Trading Card Database checklist the archive follows renders this card #DAMS, while Collectibles.com's Machida register lists his Round 2 Dual Autograph Fight Mat Relic as #DAMJ. No second source has been found that settles which code belongs to the Silva pairing and which to the Quinton Jackson pairing, and Machida has one of each in the same subset. The subset itself is confirmed: Cardboard Connection records ten subjects numbered to 25, hobby exclusive, though Jeff Allender's checklist heads the same subset '# to 5'.
