Why this card matters

Donruss beat Topps to Evans by a year. Ring Kings was a 30-card combat-sports insert inside Americana II, and Evans's card is serial-numbered to 500 with a Directors Cut version numbered to 100. It is the only Evans card that predates the Topps UFC licence, which makes it the piece a first-card collector has to decide about.

  • Ring Kings insert, not part of the Americana II base set — the card is numbered on the back out of 500.
  • Americana II carries no UFC marks; Evans is shown in generic fight imagery.
  • Allender's checklist numbers the Ring Kings insert 1–30 and places Evans at 6; the archive's other Americana II Ring Kings cards (Georges St-Pierre RK-GS, Randy Couture RK-RC) use an RK- plus initials style for the same insert.

Two things are unsettled. The card number: Allender lists Evans as Ring Kings 6, while the archive's other Americana II Ring Kings entries and confirmed eBay copies (Gina Carano RK-GC) use RK- plus initials, which would make his RK-RE — no source consulted showed RK-RE, so the checklist number is recorded as given rather than guessed. Autograph status: Allender explicitly says Evans is not in any Ring Kings Signature or Signature Material subset, but an eBay seller titled a /500 copy 'Ring Kings Autograph'. Recorded here as an unsigned insert, matching the checklist and the /500 Ring Kings cards already in the archive.
