Why this is the rookie

Two independent databases land on the same card. MMA Rookies names 2015 Topps UFC Knockout #88 her True Rookie Card and lists 2015 Topps UFC Champions #113 and 2015 Topps UFC Chronicles #259 as her other rookie cards; Collectibles.com's register carries the same card as '#88 RC' and gives 2015 as her rookie year. Cardboard Connection confirms the number and a 22 April 2015 release, ahead of Champions on 28 October 2015 and Chronicles, which shipped 3 February 2016 despite its 2015 label.

Her first card of any kind, from a product released April 22, 2015 — four months after she lost the inaugural strawweight title fight to Carla Esparza at the TUF 20 Finale. It is a base card in a 100-card set, and the paralleled versions (Gold /99, Red /8, Mat 1/1) are the only serial-numbered versions of her rookie that exist.

Identifying it

  • Card #88 in the 100-card 2015 Topps UFC Knockout base set
  • Base is unnumbered; Silver is /199, Gold /99, Red /8 and Mat 1/1, so a serial on the back narrows the parallel immediately
  • The set is small — a #88 from any other UFC Knockout year is a different product, and 2014 Topps UFC Knockout does not include her at all

Card milestones

Five separate questions, kept separate. How these are defined.

The evidence behind each
  • 2015Earliest licensed card — Cardboard Connection's 2015 Topps UFC Knockout page gives a 22 April 2015 release, a 100-card base set and '#88 Rose Namajunas'; Collectibles.com's register lists 2015 Topps UFC Knockout #88 as her earliest card; MMA Rookies opens her entry with the same card.
  • 2015First MMA card — Same three sources; no Invicta FC or non-MMA issue of her is catalogued anywhere reachable.
  • 2015First UFC card — Cardboard Connection checklist and release date; the preceding 2014 Topps UFC Knockout (16 May 2014) does not list her.
  • 2015First certified autograph — Cardboard Connection's 73-card Fighter Autographs checklist lists FA-RN Rose Namajunas, and MMA Rookies records it as her first autograph. A checklist-level read of the 2015 Topps UFC Knockout page confirms she is NOT among the 44 Knockout Autographs, closing the one route to an earlier signature.
  • 2015Recognized rookie card — MMA Rookies names it her True Rookie Card, with 2015 Topps UFC Champions #113 and 2015 Topps UFC Chronicles #259 as her other rookie cards; Collectibles.com's register lists the same card as '#88 RC'.

Rose Namajunas's rookie card: 2015 Topps UFC Knockout #88 — Rose Namajunas.

MMA Rookies names 2015 Topps UFC Knockout #88 her True Rookie Card and lists 2015 Topps UFC Champions #113 and 2015 Topps UFC Chronicles #259 as her other rookie cards. Release dates back that order up: Cardboard Connection dates Topps UFC Knockout to April 22, 2015, Topps UFC Champions to October 28, 2015, and Topps UFC Chronicles to February 3, 2016 despite the 2015 label. Nothing earlier exists — the 2014 Topps UFC Knockout checklist (May 16, 2014) has no Namajunas entry, and no Invicta-era or non-MMA card of hers is documented anywhere.

Uncertain

Cardboard Connection's product summary text claims Namajunas 'has entries in the Knockout Autographs checklist', but a targeted read of the same page's checklist sections returned no Namajunas line in the 44-card Knockout Autographs set or in any relic subset. Treated as a summary error and no autograph card recorded for this product; worth a second look with a different source.
