Yan's only rookie card and his first card of any kind, from a 100-card set released 11 September 2019 — more than a year after his UFC debut, because Topps left him out of both the 2018 and 2019 Knockout checklists. The refractor rainbow is where the money and the hunting is: Green /99, Blue Wave /75, Gold /50, Orange /25, Black /10, Red /5 and a SuperFractor 1/1.
SportsCardsPro's data panel for Petr Yan #79 (2019 Topps UFC Chrome) answers 'No' to rookie card, which conflicts with MMA Rookies, the RC logo described by Cardboard Connection and the (RC) in the eBay catalogue title. Treated as a SportsCardsPro data-field gap rather than a genuine collector dispute, but recorded.

Card history
Yan went 3-0 in the UFC in 2018 and Topps skipped him twice while he did it: he is in no base, insert, autograph or relic subset of 2018 Topps UFC Knockout, released 20 July 2018 a month after his debut, nor of 2019 Topps UFC Knockout on 8 May 2019. No pre-UFC Russian or regional issue has been catalogued either, so there is simply no Yan cardboard from his first year in the promotion.
His first card and his only rookie is 2019 Topps UFC Chrome #79, from the 100-card set released 11 September 2019, where first-year fighters carry the RC logo. The refractor rainbow is the whole hunt: Refractor and X-Fractor, then Green /99, Blue Wave /75, Gold /50, Orange /25, Black /10, Red /5 and a SuperFractor 1/1. MMA Rookies calls it his True Rookie Card and records no others, while SportsCardsPro's data panel for the same card answers 'No' to rookie - a disagreement worth knowing about when a listing gives only 'Petr Yan #79', since Topps reused that number for him in 2020 and Panini used it again in 2021.

His rookie product added only the Future Stars insert FS-PY, and he is not among the eight names on that set's /5 Future Stars Autographs checklist. 2019 Topps UFC Museum Collection on 27 November brought his first relic, Meaningful Moments MMR-PY, numbered /75 or lower, though he has no base card in that 50-card set. Then came 2020 Topps UFC Knockout #13 on 25 March with the UFC Inception insert UI-20, and 2020 Topps UFC #79 on 26 August - six weeks after he beat Jose Aldo for the vacant bantamweight title, and still tagged 'FS' for Future Stars rather than carrying any champion's billing.
It took Panini to get him signing. 2021 Panini Prizm UFC, out 28 April 2021 seven weeks after the disqualification loss to Aljamain Sterling, gave him base #79 with the deepest colour run of his career - Red /275, Blue /199, Purple /149, Orange /99, Neon Green /75, Teal /49, Pink Pulsar /42, Green Pulsar and Mojo /25, Gold /10, Lucky Envelopes and Octagon /8, Black 1/1 - and Signatures #15, his first certified autograph, roughly two years after his rookie. Immaculate Collection UFC on 31 December 2021 followed with numbered base #21 /65, Premium Memorabilia Autographs #40 /99, Marks of Greatness #44 /99 and a Jumbo Memorabilia /8, and 2022 Select spread him over four base tiers - Concourse #7, Premier Level #103, Octagonside #201 and Mezzanine #309 - with Signatures #35 alongside.
Topps took the licence back and picked him up again at 2024 Topps Chrome UFC #156 on 20 March 2024, his first Topps card in four years, in a base set now doubled to 200 and a refractor ladder running Speckle /299 down to Red /5 and a SuperFractor 1/1, with Tale of the Tape TFT-6 beside it. 2025 Topps Chrome UFC put him at #116 with Fists of Fury FOF-10. The pattern from 2019 held: he is on none of the Topps autograph checklists in either year, so every certified Yan signature in circulation is a Panini card from 2021 to 2023.

2021 Panini Prizm UFC (28 April 2021) is his first Panini release: base #79 with the full Prizm colour run up to Black 1/1, four inserts, and Signatures #15 — his first certified autograph, arriving roughly two years after his rookie. 2021 Panini Immaculate Collection UFC (31 December 2021) put him on numbered base #21 /65 and Premium Memorabilia Autographs #40 /99.
Panini Select UFC 2022 spreads him over Concourse #7, Premier Level #103, Octagonside #201 and Mezzanine #309, with Signatures #35. Donruss UFC Signature Series carries a Yan autograph numbered SG-PYN, seen in a Purple Laser /15.
Topps regained the UFC licence for 2024. Yan is base #156 in 2024 Topps Chrome UFC (20 March 2024) with the Tale of the Tape insert TFT-6, and #116 in 2025 Topps Chrome UFC (27 June 2025) with Fists of Fury FOF-10. He is still not on the Topps autograph checklists for either year.

MMA Rookies names 2019 Topps UFC Chrome #79 his True Rookie Card and records 'Other Rookies: None'. Cardboard Connection's set article states that in 2019 Topps UFC Chrome 'cards for the first-year fighters display the RC logo', and the eBay catalogue entry for the card is titled '2019 Topps Chrome UFC - Petr Yan #79 Gold Refractor /50 (RC)'. Nothing earlier exists: Cardboard Connection's checklists for 2018 Topps UFC Knockout (20 July 2018) and 2019 Topps UFC Knockout (8 May 2019) contain no Petr Yan entry in any subset, despite his UFC debut in June 2018.
