Why this is the rookie

TCDB's 2009 Topps UFC Round 1 rookie list flags #66 (Nate Diaz / Manny Gamburyan) RC, and MMA Rookies names it his 'True Rookie Card', with Round 2 #3 as an 'other rookie'. Round 1 was his first licensed set: TCDB lists no Diaz cards before 2009, and the Round 1 cards recreate his June 23, 2007 TUF 5 Finale debut.

Diaz's first licensed card: a horizontal 'UFC Debut' fight card recreating his June 23, 2007 TUF 5 Finale win over Manny Gamburyan. It shares the fight with #67, but #66 is the one that bills Diaz first, and both TCDB and MMA Rookies treat it as the rookie.

Commonly misidentified

#66 and #67 get mixed up in listings. #67 reads 'Manny Gamburyan vs Nate Diaz'. Round 2 #3 is also often sold as 'the' rookie because it's his first solo card, and the 2010 FA-ND auto is sometimes called an 'RC auto'. SportsCardsPro's 'Is Rookie Card: No' field on #66 doesn't match TCDB's RC flag.
