Why this is the rookie

TCDB's Usman profile starts in 2018 with Museum Collection #27, flagged RC and included on TCDB's 20-card rookie list for the set; the card front carries the Topps RC logo. Cardboard Connection's checklist lists #27 in the base set. His next cards (2019 Knockout #35, 2019 Chrome #14) carry no RC flag, and #14 is absent from TCDB's 2019 Chrome rookie list.

Usman's first licensed card, issued November 28, 2018 — more than three years after he won The Ultimate Fighter 21 and about three months before he took the welterweight title from Tyron Woodley. It is his only card dated 2018 on TCDB, and it shares the set's rookie class with Israel Adesanya (#42).

Commonly misidentified

Unlicensed 'All Sports' cards (2020-21, #427 with coloured versions) appear on TCDB and in listings; they are not licensed UFC cards and not rookies.
